AfC Young People's Substance Misuse Service

Info:

The Young People’s Substance Misuse service is a team of specialist practitioners who work with young people at a Tier 3 level. The practitioner gives 1:1 support focusing on the young person’s substance use and tailoring the work to their specific lifestyle and needs.

Sessions consist of:

  • Goal setting and personal plans
  • Psychoeducation
  • Drug education
  • Myth busting
  • Motivation
  • Support and guidance

Young people working with the substance misuse service at Tier 3 level are usually showing signs of problematic substance misuse. This could mean that the individual is very young, that they are using class A drugs, or using cannabis or alcohol to a dangerous level.

If you, or someone you know is showing signs of substance misuse and you are not quite sure if this criteria is met, you can email smsreferrals@achievingforchildren.org.uk to ask for a consultation or referral form.
